Chapter 9 | Nurturing Your Lifestyle - Part 2

(Part 2 out of 2)

Here's another thing to think about:

Do you know how was the term "tip" originated? (e.g. waiter’s tip)

The term "tip" emanated as an expression to the sentence "to ensure willingness”.

Think about it - if the tip is to ensure willingness, when should you give it?

The answer is: in advance.

How many of us give a tip in advance? We all think that first we eat, then if the service was to our liking, we give a generous tip.

If the service was poor, the tip will be accordingly.

Adopt the approach of successful people – they don’t take any chances when it comes to receiving good customer service.

They ensure getting a good service by giving a tip in advance!

Next time you go out to dinner with that special someone, approach the waiter after being taken to your seat, shake his hand and tell him: "Here are x dollars, could you take care of my friend and I tonight?" - You won't believe the implication of this...

If you don't ensure a good customer service, you'll find yourself (like all the other diners) wondering "Where's the waiter?... Did he just take a break?"

Same money – Special Style

Life with style is also life with balance.

Make sure you're giving attention to all the values and dimensions in your life.

One of them is family - there aren't many important values such as your family.

People who care for each other (e.g. family members) have the best lifestyle.

You must defend this value fiercely.

If there's a "road block" on the way – get rid of it.

It has been long said: "There are many treasures, but the greatest of them all is love".

Better to live in a tent on the beach, to love and be loved in return - than to live in a mansion, in loneliness and solitude.

The family has to be nurtured, just like a beautiful garden - effort, imagination and creativity should always be available to you in order for you to keep on growing and developing, together with your family.

Another value is friendship – and may I say a value of utmost importance.

Friends are those wonderful people who know everything about you and still love you, friends are those who come to you when others leave you.

A wise man once said: "Make sure you have good friends on your way up, to help you on the way down".

Life, as you know, is full of ups and downs.

But with true friends who encourage and stand by you regardless of the circumstances – the "ups" happen automatically and the "downs" are less disappointing...

Let's define 'a good friend' :

Both humorously and seriously, you could say a good friend is the one you'd call if you were unjustly imprisoned in a Mexican jail...

Why would you call him? Because he'd come to release you, no matter what.

How much would he pay to bail you out? However much is needed.

What if the warden gives him a hard time and denies bail? He will keep on insisting until he gets you released.

That's a good friend.

Regarding the situation above, I'm sure some "friends" will tell you: "Call me when you get out of jail...".

We all have this type of friends, but a true friendship is essential to those seeking a successful life.

Make sure you commit the time and effort your friendships deserve.

Given the right nurturing, a friendship will bring you the greatest and most satisfying treasure - a successful life.

Further key points to help you achieve balance:

* Don’t work all day, but don't be sluggish and sleep all day either.

* Successful life isn't about numbers, sums, and quantity. A successful life is about right attitude, taking action, idea, and revelation.

* A successful life is based on a developed lifestyle, regardless of your bank account statement or savings.

* If you live a good life – you'll earn good, look good and feel good.

* Become an expert in "starting all over again".

* A well-developed lifestyle is living a life of constant pleasure. Lifestyle is the fuel that urges the commitment to self-discipline and the basic values that make life perfect.

* What is happiness without personality? What is history without art? Quantity without quality? What are wealth and luxury without a joy in the heart?

* Assimilate your own unique lifestyle, share with people around you and build yourself a successful life.

Lifestyle is learning to appreciate the obvious

One of our problems is our brain and way of thinking come as a "standard" to each of us at birth.

Later in life, we hardly (if at all) appreciate things given to us for free, in contrast to things we paid for which we cherish and value.

The paradox is ,the truth is the exact opposite.

All that is important in life comes for free:

* The brain and the thought.

* Your soul.

* Your body.

* Your hopes and dreams.

* Your ambitions.

* Your intelligence.

* The love to your family, friends, and country.

All these values are priceless and they're yours for free.

Make sure you don’t miss anything, don’t miss out on things that give you pleasure.

Make sure you live your life – in style.

Chapter summary:

* Don’t just learn how to make money - learn how to live.

* Design your lifestyle, and start in small doses.

* Make yourself a habit - if you’re already thinking of a higher sum, then give it.

* Learn to enjoy the good person you’re becoming.

* Successful people don’t take any chances when it comes to receiving good customer service. They ensure getting a good service by giving a tip in advance!

* Life with style is also life with balance.

* Don’t work all day, but don't be sluggish and sleep all day either.

* A successful life is based on a developed lifestyle, regardless of your bank account statement or savings.

* If you live a good life – you'll earn good, look good and feel good.

* Become an expert in “starting all over again".

* Lifestyle is learning to appreciate the obvious.

* All that is important in life, things you can't put a price on - come for free. Learn to appreciate and be grateful for that.

* Make sure you don’t miss anything, don’t miss out on things that give you pleasure.

* A well-developed lifestyle is living a life of constant pleasure. Lifestyle is the fuel that urges the commitment to self-discipline and the basic values that make life perfect.
